The TAINY SwitchingCenter (TSC) from Sagem is the first software-based switching gateway for M2M communication via IP. Acting like a telephone exchange, it facilitates wireless data exchange via GPRS between inaccessible and mobile processes or with the control center. The processes can be telemetric, telecontrol or remote configuration systems which communicate with each other in an efficient and process-oriented way, independent of the industry, company size and location, and are controlled in real time. The TAINY SwitchingCenter combines the benefits of conventional, line-linked communication with mobility and cost advantages of IP-based, wireless network technology.

Energy, water or gas meters fitted with a DM600 meter modem (OEM variant for the company ELSTER Messtechnik) can be connected via GPRS to the control center. The TAINY SwitchingCenter is a software-based switching gateway for GPRS data communication. The serial data are transferred via the IP network. The TAINY ComPortClient acts as the interface to the application.

This Product from Sagem makes it possible to read energy, water or gas meters by remote via the GPRS network, regardless of their location. As a result, meter readings can be made economically at very short intervals, whereby the GPRS connection is set up in the same way as the accustomed AT connection via the GSM network. The nearly realtime collected data can be used to calculate trends to optimize load or network management. The ZDUE-GPRS-PLUS-IV can still be used for remote meter reading via GSM.

The ZDUE-GSM-PLUS-V modem makes remote readings of meters with serial interfaces possible via GSM.
The meter data (energy register, load profiles) will be transmitted in transparent mode via different interfaces. Using this modem other data collectors can be read out too. An additional power supply for devices with battery is available.
